They were chosen according to at first a criterion of age (the oldest of the family reign: it is the birthright), then because they symbolize a moral integrity and a righteousness without defect.
So both first ones are sons(threads) of the Mahdi and the others are small sons(threads).
However it is necessary to note that there is a son of the Mahdi, of whom the peculiarity deserves to be underlined and because of its premature disappearance, which was not Caliph: he(it) MAME BABACAR LAHI father Imam Mouhamadou Bachir LAHI.
He(It) is as well of tradition as Khalif indicates(appoints) his(her) spokesman and so several years the Caliph current assumed this function(office).
At present CHERIF OUSSEYNOU LAHI (the elder son(brother) among the grandsons after Caliph) is him door word. |
